Studio Lighting
(2nd Photo)
The light is coming from the right side, slightly above the model. It illuminates one side of her face, while the other side is shadowed. The model is facing the camera, and the picture is taken from the waist up. She is holding the phone and the cord, in an intimidating position. The photo was taken horizontally, straight on, from farther away. The lighting is ominous, and she seems almost threatening. Unlike the fist photo, where the lighting was full on, from all directions, and the pose was more fun. The first picture is brighter and generally more light-hearted.

Self Portraits
I took these photographs using a self timer and a tripod. I tried to take the rule of thirds into consideration. If I had taken these photos with a DSLR camera the ISO would have been around 400, and the white balance set to daylight. The shutter speed would have been around 1/125 of a second and the aperture f5. With the photos I tried to communicate that I have a edgier style and personality. The photographs were successful because they were well thought out and taken with artistic composition in mind, and that is why they are self-portraits rather than selfies.
